The Chancellors - Turn 3 News

The Metahuman Licensing Act

The Security Committee has passed the MLA, but the Security Commissioner, August Geier, has passed it up to the Chancellors as a matter of great importance. Unless the MLA is vetoed in the next few weeks it will be put into action, and it is likely to be expensive to reverse once that has happened. The MLA has support from Felicie Chaput, Voirrey Lusk, Quirijn Vandroogenbroeck and Wandalin Frost, and opposition from Ariel Vance, Eloise Dubois, Mai Ngo and Odhiambo Jenkins.

The Economics Commissioner

With Odhiambo Jenkins having joined the Chancellors, a new Economics Commissioner is needed. The current candidates are:

The new Economics Commissioner will be decided in the next couple of weeks, so that the Economics Committee can resume business.

The Collateral Limitation Act

Ariel Vance has begun discussions on the Collateral Limitation Act, and act that would introduce harsh penalties for all combat between super-powered combatants. This bill is unlikely to extend to the Furies, but it would prevent other super-powered law-enforcement from targeting super-powered criminals. It would also increase the penalties for super-villains who's crimes involve other supers.

While the CLA would limit the actions of certain sections of law-enforcement, its proponents insist that the resulting reduction in collateral damage would be more than worth the hassle of having the Furies mobilise to counter every super-powered threat.

The CLA is unlikely to be voted upon in the next few weeks.
