“After her husband's arrest, many expected Sylvia Stapleton to abandon Capital City. Instead, she threw herself into working with the Lookout as the Artist, eventually becoming one of the figures instrumental in the organisation's survival. She also became responsible for providing many of its links with the newly developed Knights of the Round Table, passing key information from the Lookout to the Knights' investigations. Though publicly a quiet presence, by the time of her retirement, there was little doubt amoung those who worked with the Lookout that the Artist was behind most of its operations. She left behind an organisation firmly cemented in the public consciousness.
Following their retirement, the Stapletons retreated to a house in the French Alps - a house local rumour states is still occupied by the original inhabitants. While at first neglected, a close look at the property records reveals the house is still in their names - and indeed, their possession of the S sequence means the Stapletons will be living for a long time yet”
