“It is a great shame that the summoning of Demons in their most powerful forms requires human sacrifice. Indeed this was one of the founding thoughts behind the Order of the Dragon, that stayed with them right up until their demise at the hands of Damien Hawkes.

The organisation went under a number of changes throughout it's hundred of years existence, but the underlying intention was the same, to better humanity through powers of demons. The group saw the lives of a few people a small price to pay for the benefits such demons could provide to humanity as a whole. However there was never really a period of history where the general public agreed with this view, and so the organisation tended to stay in the shadows.

Perhaps their most famous act was the attempt to summon a 5 mile tall demon in the centre of the Rothwell Science Park. The fact they got so far through the summoning process before any attempts were made to stop them is both a testament to how influential some of their members are, and how little is commonly known about demonic summoning of any kind. One of the keys to their success in more modern times was the careful placement of members as well respected members of society, to draw attention away from their activities.

It is no surprise they were drawn to Rothwell. The park allowed access to a large plethora of books and other resources with which to focus their summoning efforts. However the research of magic is perhaps best left to the controlled labs of Rothwell scientists.”
