Extract from an interview with Avalon:

Interviewer: As a member of the Furies, would you call yourself heroic?

Avalon: I guess I could be facetious, and say the clue’s in the job – but, honestly, this question is too important to dodge. If we can’t identify what’s heroic about ourselves, how can we possibly hope to achieve anything?

I’d like to consider myself principled. Not just in an abstract sense, either: there are rules that I am honour-bound to follow. I’d like to think that I’ve never left anyone’s life the worse for having met me. Perhaps, given the times – perhaps in any time – true heroism is a myth. But if I can succeed in doing less harm than good, then I’ll be more than happy.
