Polaris industries, our main suppliers of weaponry and equipment, suffered a break in recently. Although nothing was taking, it's worrying that people have been looking too closely at what's going on there, as they may end up uncovering the connection between our organisations.
In related news, Gabriel Faulkner, Chief Legal Officer of Polaris, has been looking into “Missing” (read: in our possession) weapons and other prototypes. Given he doesn't know the nature of the relationship between Polaris and Garuda, he could end up causing a lot of trouble. While a consensus has yet to be reached regarding a course of action, this could have dire consequences for our organisation if left alone.
In other related news, a reshuffle in the Polaris financial portfolio, again though to be caused by Mr Faulkner, has resulted in our funding dropping dramatically from that angle. While losing this source of income is highly inconvenient, we are confident that it represents a small enough share of our funding that we can continue without it. If, however, you have any creative suggestions of how to fix the problem, then do come forwards.
Ranger and Fang of the Carrion division have recently been making noise about the organisation's lack of willingness to deploy them. Despite several known supervillains and criminals attending the last Summit, which was also attended by a number of Garuda members, there has been no call to action by anyone to follow up on this, or even investigate what they may be up to. Complaints like this have been occurring since Batallion left Garuda, but have been particularly bad in recent weeks.
Traditionally, Carrion have always been Garuda's last resort if they see no other option but to eliminate a target, but we have to ask ourselves if we can afford to take such chances in times like these. Incidents even going as far back as the massacre by Vulcan and Volturnus in the '30s should be an indicator of what happens when we leave incidents like this unchecked.
Opinions throughout the organisation are divided on this matter.
The word has spread around Garuda that Murdoch Marshall is considering backing a bill to legalise certain activities by our organisation. While many would see this as a step in the right direction, one must wonder what this would mean for the less legal aspects of Garuda's, especially those carried out by the Carrion and Lyres divisions. Of course, our own David Blake is also running for Executive, so we could expect similar actions from him.
