Lord Luck AKA Daniel Mulholland - The Fugitive

“In the history of our corporations, few names have become more vilified than that of Daniel Mulholland, who under the moniker of 'Lord Luck', systematically supported the corrupt executive of James Choi and Kelly Moon through sabotaging any and all investigative efforts. Luck was originally recruited in Capital City by Moon herself, a young and ambitious researcher who saw the hospitalised Mulholland - injured during a ritualistic attempt to gain additional powers - as a potential first volunteer for the S Sequence, the first step in Gamasot's human powers programme. After its success, he left his family believing his death, and rapidly rose to become Moon's right hand man in Oversight.

Through the year of human experimentation and corporate war, at least seventy known deaths are attributed directly to Lord Luck's betrayal of his sister, myself, the Knights and previous investigations - particularly during the assault on Primary Testing (please see Chapter Two: VINE, DINO, and the Acronyms of the Jeeves-Gamasot Conflict) and the Lake Geneva Ambush.

When Moon and Choi were finally arrested, it seemed likely that Luck had covered his tracks too well to be prosecuted with them - in fact, he was a candidate for the CEO position in JCG. Thankfully, circumstances conspired to prevent this. After a systematic digital campaign devastating his reputation, Liberty Jeeves was instead appointed as the superior candidate (see Chapter Seven: Collective Meddling - Why Did Marsh and Withers Put Aside Their Feud?), and instigated an investigation into the Gamasot testing programme.

Before this investigation could reveal Luck's guilt, he fled, along with recent recruit Laurie Heyward. Where exactly Heyward and Luck went is the matter of much debate. The initial investigators turned up - and then promptly discarded - Tokyo, Ethiopia, and a handful of suspected Environment First safehouses in the south of England as possible destinations. My own attempts to track the villains down proved less than successful. One thing is certain: their unproductive attitude towards their coworkers, including myself, will not be rewarded by history”
