“Rothwell was one of the last things to recover from the destruction prevalent around the time of the Crisis. While they were my no means the worst hit, they were quite far down the list of rebuilding, and had to make do with temporary measures for a number of years. Indeed it is often said that the lack of funds set back our scientific endeavours for as much as 20 years, with the more cutting edge research facilities being some of the worst hit.
The redevelopments also took a drastic turn when Damien Hawkes outed Alicia Perkins, the architect behind the developments, as a member of the mysterious “Order of the Dragon”, shortly before her disappearance. This lead to a police investigation which deemed her designs “unsafe” due to their similarity to a number of glyphs, known to summon demons. Despite public outcry as this all being a far-fetched conspiracy theory, the designs were changed (with Damien's oversight).
However by this point their research had been outstripped by a number of private companies, such as the newly formed JCG, leading to a number of departments being downsize. Nowadays, the park has regained it's place at the forefront of modern science, though we are always left to wonder about what could have been.”
