History

Where there have been supers, there have been those wronged by them, those without the power to put a stop to them. Even before supers were known as such, there were plenty of well-documented cases, from the oppression by the 'gods' in ancient Egypt to Vlad the Impaler (and really, does anything else need to be said?); and many, many more besides. The World Freedom Alliance (WFA), is one of the world's most prominent anti-super organisation - a hard thing to be in a world so reliant on the very things that endanger them. Since its establishment in 2025 by Amaryllis Amarillo, herself a victim of supers, it has won many successful court cases against supers; but it is simply not enough. Its goal of severely limiting, or entirely banning, use of superpowers is a lofty one, but the WFA will not rest until it achieves its goal.

Some have accused the organisation of being radical in its methodology. While it's true that there have been certain incidents the WFA would prefer to disassociate themselves from, there are many, many more instances of supers in the wrong. The WFA believes that the actions of the oppressed are always taken unnecessarily negatively, while those of the oppressors are rarely anything but positive or accepted. Regardless, the official policy is peaceful protesting.

Other People of Note

Amaryllis Amarillo

Now well into her seventies, Amarillo is the founder and still-active leader of the WFA. Originally a fan of supers, the tragedy in 2025 inspired her to take a more noble path. Re-training to be a lawyer, she has since won many successful cases against supers at all levels. However, her continued insistence to head cases against supers has her employees and supporters worried for her health.

Arthit Jainkul

A well-known member of the WFA, Jainkul works as an anchorman who often offers the anti-super counterpoint in news articles. Although he is open about his support of the WFA, he remains critical of its more radical elements.

Johannes Edvin

Edvin is a young activist in the WFA. Originally a bank employee, he was subject to three different supervillain raids before quitting. Taking up a different career as a police officer, he aims to do some good the old-fashioned way, considering relying on heroes who never come and don't consider themselves to be held accountable as a waste of the world's resources.

Location Information

231 Muse Street

The official headquarters of the WFA, located in the heart of Capital City. Those who feel wronged by supers are encouraged to submit their cases here for processing by the WFA legal team. Pro-supers are encouraged to go away.

Rumour has it that the office is much more well-fortified than it first appears, but there has not yet been an instance where this speculation has been either proven or disproved.

What we Really Think

SPEAR

It is shocking to me that the World Government is so reliant on such a volatile element. But they will not listen to reason. They insist on this course of action, and one day, I have no doubt, it will be their downfall” - Amaryllis Amarillo

Separatists

We may have some common opinions. Sympathisers within the separatist ranks. But they are too radical. What they will do to the world may not be much better than leaving a super-happy organisation like SPEAR in charge” - Amaryllis Amarillo

Garuda

They play hero, but they're no better than any of us. Worse than many, given the damage they leave behind them” - Johannes Edvin

The Heart

A disgusting abuse of power” - Arthit Jainkul

Recent Events

Lunar Crisis

Although some supers have done good things so far, the WFA considers it more than balanced out by the many others who have insisted of taking advantage of those rendered powerless and damaged by this crisis. We do not need supers to save us. Even without prompting, members of the WFA have been showing the world what ordinaries are capable of: fixing messes without powers. The WFA encourages all of its members to step up and show the world that powers are unnecessary when it comes to making a difference.

Bronco out of control

Rumour has it the corporate super Bucking Bronco has been using his powers to bully some of the interns working at Silver Skylight - the company he works for! So far, no one has stepped up to give us evidence, but that's no reason to let this abuse of power stand unchecked. Sooner or later, the evidence will be found, and the world will see yet another reason not to be quite so ready to trust supers.
