“The one named Designation Kyros was a mysterious and often maligned individual. One of the many time travellers to arrive during the Crisis, he, like many others, sought to prevent a mysterious phenomenon known simply as The EVENT. While all evidence suggests that even Kyros was unaware of the nature of this EVENT, damaged data storage devices salvaged from his remains during the autopsy paint an interesting picture.
“Please listen carefully to the following recording.”
Many would say that the way the world is at the moment poses a danger. Not just to our lives, but to our very way of life and everything we hold dear. Our friends, our families, if we don't do something, they're all going to be destroyed.
When you're fighting a war between two world superpowers, it's easy to paint the other side as the villain. Maybe they are, maybe they aren't, but what I do know is that if we keep fighting, eventually the whole world will suffer for it.
Heck, we're already seeing it happen. Entire continents ravaged by battles on scales unseen before now. City after city vanishing in a blaze of nuclear fire. This war is killing not just humanity but the very world itself.
And we can't stop fighting.
Peace talks sabotaged, ceasefires broken, every attempt to stop the fighting has ended in abject failure. And as we fight, we continue to look for new ways to destroy each other. Superweapons that make the nuke look like a child's toy. And it just. Keeps. Going.
We're beyond hope. The whole of humanity is fighting a war it lost decades ago. We're dying, we just don't know it yet.
So we're sending him back. To find some way, any way possible to prevent this from ever happening.
He is our last hope.
“So you see, Kyros, while a weapon of war himself, was ultimately meant to stop conflict. Whether or not he succeeded…
“I suppose we'll have to wait and see.”
