Garuda Brief

This page tells you what you, as someone involved in Garuda, need or ought to know beyond public knowledge of this organisation. Please also note that the information available here is not all there is, it is simply what would be known to the ranks available at game start. As you progress in the organisation, more information may become available. Alternatively, you may come across things while investigating.

Whether you decide to share this information with others is up to you. However, the GMs ask that you relay this information in your own words instead of simply showing others the organisation brief, to maintain a sense of IC authenticity.

The GM in charge of this organisation is Chris N. If you have any questions related to this organisation, feel free to get in touch with him.

Other People of Note

David Blake

CEO of Polaris Industries, David uses his position to help provide weaponry and other equipment to Garuda. He is also a major financial backer of the organisation.

Capt. Amanda Hawke

Captain of the Leviathan. She's in charge of the carrier's movements and just about anything that goes on within. While normally fair, she has been known to take things a little far when it comes to the Leviathan's safety. Do NOT mess with her ship.

Ako Sato

Requisitions Officer in Garuda. Any requests for equipment and other resources go through her. This includes any weaponry not owned by the person making the request, as well as the Starlings and Quetzalcoatl.

Fang

A high ranking member of Carrion, the agent codenamed Fang is known as much for her geniality off the battlefield as she is for her brutal power on it. With bestial strength and the claws and fangs to go with it, she's not one to mess with.

Esper

While he usually stays behind the scenes, he acts as an observer on most Phoenix missions. He possesses some kind of sensory enhancement along with telekinetic powers, although the extent of his abilities with them are unknown at this point.

Location Information

The Nest

A hidden and heavily fortified bunker in southern France not far from Capital City. While far from the only base Garuda controls, this one is key to being able to bring its resources to bear in Capital City. Houses a squadron of Starlings and the Quetzalcoatl.

Polaris Industries

While not officially part of the organisation, Polaris Industries is noted in Garuda for being a safe place for its operatives. Garuda avoids operating out of the complex itself, largely to avoid giving away the connection between the two organisations.

Safehouses

There are some safehouses within Capital City itself, usually privately owned by members of the organisation. They can house a few agents and their personal equipment, but nothing much beyond that.

Leviathan

Houses a number of Starlings, and has a great deal of firepower itself. Rumour has it that the submersible carrier has capabilities beyond what the rank and file of Garuda know about.

What we Really Think

SPEAR

“I get it, you don't like them. I really do. If they were doing their job properly, we wouldn't need to do ours. That doesn't mean they don't do some good. By all means keep an eye on them, and if they're up to anything dodgy, report back, but right now they're leaving us alone and we want it to stay that way.” - Sparrow, Lyre agent.

Separatists

“Is it wrong that there's some competition to the only world power?” - Esper, Phoenix agent.

They would incite chaos to further their own goals, regardless of who may get trampled underfoot. Their continued existence would be to the detriment of humanity. - Ranger, head of Carrion.

The Heart

“They're a criminal enterprise. They kill, they steal, they hurt people. That's about as clear cut as it comes.” - Blitz, head of Phoenix.

“They taste good!” - Fang, Carrion agent.

Rothwell, Gamasot and JeevesCorp

“They're at the cutting edge. We need that advantage. If you can get it by legitimate means, that's fine. By less legitimate means… that's fine too.” - Firebrand

Temple

”…I've got nothing.” - Everyone

Other Divisions

Phoenix

“They're at the heart of all we do. Saving lives, preventing disasters, it's all good stuff. Firebrand led it well, but now it's in Blitz's hands. Should something so important really be left to someone so inexperienced?” - Anonymous Lyre agent.

Carrion

“Why did we cut funding to them? They do good, but we really only want to use them as a last resort. Is that so wrong?” - David Blake, CEO of Polaris Industries

Lyres

“Seriously? Not even members of the organisation know anyone ranked higher that Sparrow from that division. Talk about secretive. It seems like no-one trusts anyone around here.” - Fang, Carrion agent.

Recent Events

Going Rogue

Batallion, former head of the Carrion division, left the organisation recently. Official reports state her resons for leaving as “Unknown,” while the rumours flying around are varied enough that nobody can really make head or tail of it. Ranger, her successor, has taken to his new role exceptionally well, but Battalion's presence will be sorely missed by all.

In related news, there have been a few sightings of her since she left. She appears to have carried on as a solo hero, but her current motives are unknown.

Look to the Stars

As you should already be aware, part of the Moon is missing. We have no idea what caused it, and we're hoping to send as many agents as possible to these Summits at the Kamalani Centre. We're going to need all hands on deck to sort this out, and we can't do it alone.

Our first priority should be to help people caught up in the mass flooding caused by the sudden change in lunar mass. We'll also need people to make sure that any less scrupulous superpowered types aren't taking advantage of the chaos to cause further harm unnoticed. Lastly, we need find out exactly what happened and what caused this. Anything that can do that to the Moon is something to be reckoned with. What if they do the same thing to Earth?
